Seascape, Jersey
A sketch of the sea made while the artist was staying at Corbiere in Jersey. A small ship is shown ploughing though a heavy sea on the right, with funnels just visible above the waves and smoke trailing behind the ship. The waves are shown with thick impasto paint and the sky is shown with muted tones of cream with pink and grey clouds. Everett was at Corbiere from 13 January to 6 February 1928, painting the constantly changing appearance of sea and sky.
