Three masts and rigging showing the flag signal 'England expects that every man will do his duty' - annotated
original art: drawing. Three masts and rigging showing Nelson's Trafalgar flag signal, 'England expects that every man will do his duty' - annotated, circa 1920s, by William Lionel Wyllie. The masts may be intended as those of HMS 'Victory', though much of her rig was removed during restoration at Portsmouth in the 1920s. However, this is not a record of the ship but a demonstration of how the signal was hoisted in the Popham Code that Nelson used.
