No. 5 [Lower Hangar] Deck. The Lower Hangar in the vicinity of frame 110, looking to starboard. Large stowage shelves can be seen at Lower Gallery and Upper Hangar deck levels. In the centre of the picture at hangar deck level is fire point no. 7 and a radar cooling point.

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
