The harbour at Narvik, Norway

The harbour and town at Narvik, Norway. The photographer is looking north-east from on board the anchored Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is on a cruise of Norwegian fjords. The waterfront is dominated by the LKAB iron ore works. Narvik Parish Church is in the left background. A motor fishing vessel is under way on the right and a floating pontoon carrying a small scotch crane is in the centre.
