The passenger landing stage at Narvik, Norway.

The passenger landing stage on the waterfront at Narvik, Norway. The photographer is looking south across the harbour road and the quayside showing crowds of people watching the proceedings at the landing stage. The photographer is ashore from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is on a cruise of the Norwegian fjords and one of her motor tenders is pulling away from the landing stage to return to the ship. The entrance to the loading ramp from the ferry to Ankenes is on the far side of the landing stage. A steam coaster is alongside a wharf in the background.
