HMS Ark Royal (1950)
No. 2 [Upper Gallery] Deck. Interior of what may be the UHF (Ultra High Frequency) transmitter room on the starboard side between frames 93 and 95, but this is not certain as it could equally be part of the Command Shelter. Baskets, boxes and individual documents are piled up in this space. Negative N91594 shows this compartment from a different angle.
This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
