Local traders in an open boat offering sponges and shells to passengers on board the passenger tender Lady Cordeaux (1922) in the harbour at Nassau, Bahamas. One man is using a sculling oar over the transom of the boat while his colleague is holding out a sponge. Sponges and various types of shells are in the bottom of the boat. The photographer is on the starboard side of the Lady Cordeaux (1922) looking aft showing some of the passengers standing by and sitting on the bulwark. A large coil of mooring rope is on the deck.
