On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) approaching Pier 97 on the Manhattan side of the Hudson River at New York.

On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) approaching Pier 97 at the end of West 57th Street on the Manhattan side of the Hudson River at New York. The photographer is looking forward and to port from just abaft the lifeboats 2 and 2A showing a few people leaning on the ship's rail. The ship is accompanied by two steam tugs and the nearest one, seen from above her starboard quarter, is one of the fleet of the Oslen Towing Line but her name cannot be seen. A British Prince Line compass class ship is alongside Pier 96.
