The outlying district of Kalvanes north-west of the village of Odda at the head of Sorfjorden, Norway
The outlying district of Kalvanes north-west of the village of Odda at the head of Sorfjorden, Norway. The photographer is looking north along the shoreline showing small boats moored near the water's edge, the majority being double ended open boats. The nearest boat is a clinker built, transom sterned motor launch. Many of the residential buildings squeezed along the narrow strip of land between the water and the steep-sided mountains have lines of wshing hung out to dry. There are patches of snow on the mountain in the background.
