On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) in Sunnylvsfjorden off Hellesylt, Norway.
On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored in Sunnylvsfjorden off Hellesylt, Norway. The photographer is looking forward from the front of the superstructure on the starboard side showing the foremost motor lifeboat being swung out, suspended under the cargo derrick. A number of passengers on the foredeck are watching proceedings or are looking over the rail towards the shore. The village of Hellesylt is in the background with the Grand Hotel on the right and the church beyond it. The negative is incorrectly captioned "Oie", which is a very small settlement on Norangfjord and may have been another destination on this cruise.
