The north side of Oslo harbour, Norway
The north side of the harbour at Oslo, Norway. The photographer is looking north-by-east from out in the harbour showing the shipyard of Akers Mekaniske Verksted on the left with a cargo ship awaiting repair, two floating docks, three large cranes and building sheds. A 3-masted sailing ship is alongside a quay in the centre and behind it if the Oslo City Hall under construction. The building was commenced in February 1933 and the shell of the building was completed in November 1936. Construction was suspended 1940-1945 and the offices opened in 1947. The building was officially opened 15 May 1950. The landing steps and central square are on the right.
