The landing steps on the north side of Oslo harbour, Norway

The landing steps on the north side of the harbour at Oslo, Norway. The photographer is looking north-by-east from a quay alongside which is the passenger ferry Vestfjorden (1892). In the foreground is a single masted motor fishing vessel with a small wheelhouse right aft and a flat board suspended over the starboard quarter bulwark. A large number of people and motor vehicles are in the main square and the buildings fronting the square include a restaurant, Alf Bjercke Farvehandel Skippen, Barums Sparebank, City Magazin and a Creditbank. A rooftop advert sign reads Osram and another reads Lotus.
