The village of Oystese near Norheimsund, off Hardangerfjord, Norway

The village of Oystese off Hardangerfjord, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored offshore in Hardangerfjord and he is looking at one of the ship's motor lifeboats at the landing steps in the village. In addition to tourists there are a number of local people in their traditional dress on the landing stage. Souvenirs are being sold from alongside the adjoining building and a warehouse on the right has "Oystese Handelsforening" on it.
