On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored in Hardangerfjord off the village of Oystese, near Norheimsund, Norway. The photographer is on the starboard side of the poop and is looking forward and to starboard showing the aft pair of davits swung out and the boat missing. Three people are by the ship's rail. The north-west side of the village is in the picture and a warehouse on the waterfront is being extended forward.
