The north-east and east sides of the village of Oystese, near Norheimsund, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is anchored in Hardangerfjord off the village. He is looking north-west along the coast showing drying fodder hung on fences in the foreground. An engines aft steam coaster is alongside a small wharf next to the Oystese Hotel on the extreme left. The arched stone bridge over the Oysteseelvi is in the centre of the picture.
