Mondello bay, north of the city of Palermo, Sicily. The photographer is looking north-north-west from the Lido pier showing a single masted, lateen sailed boat under sail and the sail has an eight pointed star on it. she is crewed by one man and is seen from off the starboard quarter. A number of people are bathing in the water. The north side of the village is at the foot of Monte Gallo.
