Three single masted lateen sailed boats under sail heading for the harbour at Palermo, Sicily. They are in line ahead and although they all have their sails set they are also connected by tow ropes. The photographer is looking west from on board a passenger cruise ship showing Monte Pellegrino and the Arinella district of Palermo. The Via Santuario zigzags down the south slope of Monte Pellegrino.
