On board an unidentified passenger cruise ship in the west Gatun Locks on the Panama Canal. The photographer is on the monkey island looking down on the ship's captain and chief officer standing in the port bridge wing looking at one of the sets of double gates at the south end of one of the east chambers. A track mounted crane numbered U.S. 80 is on the lockside. The ship is heading south.
