Junks and sampans off a coastal settlement harbour on Penang Island, Malaya. A sampan in the foreground has a large number of woven baskets on board and three men are working on these baskets. A sampan laden with sacked produce is being rowed in the middle ground and it is being followed by two other sampans. Two and three masted junks, some of which have sails hoisted, are in the background. Negative numbers P94238, P94239, P94243 and P94244 show the same junks.
