Quayside deck view of the three-masted barque Alexander von Humboldt (1906), the training schooner Kvartsita (1945) and the old roll-on roll-off car ferry Tuxedo Princess (1961), moored on the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993.
A quayside view, just forward of the mainmast, looking into the deck of the three-masted barque Alexander von Humboldt (1906), with the training schooner Kvartsita (1945) moored ourboard during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. The old roll-on roll-off car ferry, now a night club, Tuxedo Princess (1961) is moored on the River Tyne. In the middle of the image is the ship's main mast which has a pinrail surrounding its base, holiding a variety of downhauls and braces. The ship's name and details are on a yellow label attached to the main mast rigging. Forward of the main mast on the port side are three fibreglass inflatable liferaft containers. The Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and Hight Level Bridge can be seen in the background.
