The Ross Smith monument at Darwin, on the shore of Port Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. The monument was erected in March 1923 and the wording on the plinth is "Erected by the Commonwealth of Australia to commemorate the landing at Port Darwin of the first aerial flight from England, 10th December 1919". The aircraft was a converted Vickers Vimy bomber of the Royal Air Force flown by brothers Ross and Keith Smith with mechanics James Bennett and Wally Shiers. The aircraft was registered G-EAOU ("God 'elp all of us") and took off from Hounslow Aerodrome on 12 November 1919. A vertical format negative.
