A quayside view of the gaff schooner Spirit of Scotland (1985), two yachts, a dinghy and a jet ski, moored on the River Tyne during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. The Spirit of Scotland's sponsor's name painted on the port side is partially obscured. Moored to the stern of Spirit of Falmout is an inflatable tender and a jet ski. Moored on the Spirit of Scotland's starboard side is the blue hulled yacht 'COMMERICAL UNION ASSURANCE LONDON', dressed overall. The Commercial Union logo is present on the stern. Four people can be seen sitting at various points on the yacht. A red ensign is visible from a flagstaff attached to the stern. Moored next to the Commercial Union yacht is a light blue coloured yacht 'NUCLEAR ELECTRIC. Five people can be seen sitting on the yacht and a red ensign is attached to a flagstaff on the yacht's stern. A large group of people can be seen on the quayside on the left hand side of the image. The former Baltic Flour Mill can be seen in the background on the opposite bank. Next to the Baltic Flour Mill is the Royal Naval Reserve base HMS Calliope.
