Bumboats alongside the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is at anchor at Port Said, Egypt. The photographer is looking down from the starboard rail showing six rowing boats whose occupants are trying to sell rugs, carpets and other woven articles to the passengers on board ship. Four of the boats have small transoms and the other two are double ended. A vertical format negative.
