The photographer is on the port side of the poop looking forward and to port while the ship is at anchor near the north end of the canal. Passengers are using a floating pontoon jetty to move between the ship and the shore. The photographer is looking north and the premises of C. Evans & Co., Grindlay & Co. Ltd., Lloyd Triestino and Deutsches Kohlen-Depot S.A. Egyptienne are on the canal side. Two advertisements for Beck's Beer are noticeable and the lighthouse is in the background. A vertical format negative.
