The photographer is on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is heading north. The Deutsches Kohlen-Depot S.A. Egyptienne building is on the left with a large sign advertising Beck's Beer on it. On the right is a building with post police on it and the lighthouse is prominent.
