A street scene in Punta Arenas, Chile.
A street scene in Punta Arenas, Chile. The photographer is looking south-east-by-east down a wide un-surfaced thoroughfare, with an open space on the left, on the steep upper slope of a hill. This part of the town is mainly residential where the majority of the properties have corrugated iron roofs. An horse and two wheeled cart is crossing the road at a junction. Anchored out in Reloncavi Sound and seen from off her starboard side is the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) dressed overall.
