The photographer is looking south-west-by-west from the waterfront at the Lungomare Vittorio Veneto showing boats drawn up on the shore and a small pier projecting into the harbour from the stone balustraded promenade. The Rosa-Bianca Hotel and Restaurant is on the right. The monument to Cristoforo Colombo, a bronze statue on a stone plinth with two bronze groups of people sculpted by Arturo Dresco in 1914, is in the left background..
