Further down the south side of the road is a building displaying an United States flag, an Apotek (pharmacist) and a Soffiubud outlet. The building with the dome at Austurstræti 16 was built in 1916-1917 and is one of the first buildings designed by Samúelsson, as well as earning the title of being the first large building in Iceland.
