The town and harbour at Reykjavik, Iceland.

The town and harbour at Reykjavik, Iceland. The photographer is looking north-east from high ground over the rooftops of the town to the harbour. Three ships belonging to the Eimskipafielag Islands are alongside wharves and other vessels are alongside a finger quay and the breakwater. The coal transporter is to the right of centre. The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) is at anchor outside the breakwater on the left and she is seen from off her port broadside. Also outside the breakwater is the Cunard Line passenger cruise ship Carinthia (1925) which is seen from off her port broadside and is dressed overall. She still has a black hull and white upperworks.
