A fully laden motor barge carrying wooden barrels is underway in midstream passing a number of steam tugs moored alongside the bank on the right which has a terrace of five storey buildings on it. Houseboats and boats for hire are alongside the left bank. In the background to the right of centre is the industrial property of Abraham van Stolk & Zoonen.
