The town of Jamestown, St Helena.
A distant view of Jamestown, St. Helena, from on board the Cunard Line cruise ship Franconia (1923) which is anchored offshore. St James Church is behind the sea wall in the centre of the picture and the commercial wharves are on the left. The town is nestled in the James Valley between Ladder Hill of the right and Bunker's Hill. The line of Jacob's Ladder of 699 steps leading from Jamestown up to Ladder Hill Fort can just be made out.
