Sailing craft alongside a wooden jetty at Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies.
Sailing craft alongside a wooden jetty at Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies. The photographer is on the beach looking at the wooden jetty which has two hand operated cranes on it. Six single masted sailing craft and a couple of open boats are alongside the jetty and more open boats are at anchor just offshore. In the right background is the Orient Line passenger cruise ship Orford (1928) anchored offshore. She is seen from off her port beam but only her forepart is in the picture.
