Cargo sloops in Castries harbour, St. Lucia, West Indies.
Two cargo sloops berthed abreast alongside a wharf in Castries harbour, St. Lucia, West Indies. They are both seen from fine off the port quarter and the inboard sloop has a pointed stern with tiller rudder and is drying her mainsail. The outboard sloop is the locally built and owned Lindsyd (1935) and she has a flat transom with an inboard rudder. Rowing boats, including one named Blue Bird, are in the foreground. A motor car is outside a building numbered 27 on the wharf in the background and Micoud Street is on the right. Heavily forested hills are in the background. For another view of these two sloops taken on the same occasion see negative number P94782.
