Diving boys alongside the Swedish passenger ship Kungsholm (1928) offshore at Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies.
Diving boys in their rowing boats alongside the Swedish passenger cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) which is anchored offshore at Castries, St. Lucia, West Indies. One of her motor lifeboats is alongside her accommodation ladder and an officer and a crewman are in the stern of the boat. The photographer is at the foot of the accommodation ladder on the starboard side looking aft at the numerous rowing boats which vary dramatically in size. The nearest boat has the Castries registration C33 and is named Fortune. The boys are waiting for passengers to throw coins into the water for them to dive in and retrieve. Another of the ship's motor lifeboats is standing off in the background.
