A general view of a corner of the harbour at Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Wooden boats are drawn up on shore in the right foreground near to a small jetty. Wooden lighters are next to the shore in the centre and to the left of centrte are more wooden boats and a jetty with a wooden framework on the end of it. Nearly all of the buildings facing the water are single storey hut-like constructions. A wooded hill is on the left. The precise location is unknown but is believed to be at the west end of the harbour.
