A Canadian Pacific Steamships Duchess class (1928) cruise ship anchored off Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies.
A very distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of a Canadian Pacific steamships Duchess class (1928) cruise ship anchored off Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, West Indies. She is dressed overall and is either the Duchess of Bedford (1928) or the Duchess of Richmond (1928). The photographer is looking to seaward from on shore showing a woman and child walking along the waterfront road and some men are digging near the water's edge. Two trees are in the foreground and Fort Charlotte is on the top of Berkshire Hill in the background. A royal visitor took place in the period 1930-1934 but the identity of the visitors and the date are unknown and they may have been travelling on the Duchess of Bedford (1928) or Duchess of Richmond (1928) and been escorted by the Royal Navy battleship Malaya (1915).
