A dragon boat off Apia, Upolo, Samoa
A distant starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of a multi-oared canoe, commonly called a dragon boat, under way off Apia, Upolu, Samoa. The photographer is on board the Cunard Line passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) looking seawards at the canoe which has a crew of thirty men and is propelled by 26 oars.
