The United States Lighthouse Service base at La Puntilla, San Juan, Puerto Rico

The United States Lighthouse Service base at La Puntilla, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The photographer is looking south-south-west from a tall building on the south shore of San Juan showing the waterfront of the Lighthouse Service base and alongside the end of the quay on the left is a buoy tender, possibly the Acacia (1920) or the Spruce (1920). The main building of the base is on the right and in the right foreground is a building plastered with advertisements. There are a projecting sign for Coca Cola, a poster for Chesterfield cigarettes, a poster for De Soto Six motor cars and on the roof is a painted sign reading 'Para Exterior, Use S.W.P.'. A Popular class passenger launch is in the centre foreground.
