A distant port bow view of the United states Navy destroyer Helm (1937) berthed alongside the New York & Porto Rico Steamship Co wharf at San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her hull number is 388. The photographer is looking south-east from the Calle Comercio showing motor cars parked in the plaza. One of the Popular class of motor passenger launches is alongside the promenade and another is motoring away. Two general cargo steamers that appear to be sister ships are at anchor out in the harbour.
