The Calle Commercio at San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Calle Commercio at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The photographer is looking north from a boat in the harbour showing the passenger motor launch Popular No. 5 (1922), seen from only just abaft her starboard beam, and another Popular class boat alongside the passenger landing on the left. The building on the left has a projecting sign advertising Coca Cola and three large posters on its east wall. The large building on the right is the cable office building of the West India and Panama Telegraph Co. Ltd. and the Western Union Telegraph Company. Gillies and Woodward occupy the 4-storey commercial building on the right and tow tall lattice steel radio masts are on buildings in the background. A number of old cannon are displayed in the plaza in the centre.
