The waterfront and surrounding buildings at the Calle Comercio, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The photographer is looking north from a boat in the harbour showing two of the Popular class of passenger motor launches alongside the landing place and a third boat, the Popular No. 2 (1920) seen from abaft her starboard beam, is approaching the landing place. On the left is the main building of the United States Lighthouse Service base with three motor launches moored stern-on to the quay. One of the motor launches has USC 510 on her hull. In the left background are the Banco Comercial De Puerto Rico and the Hotel Palace. In the centre are the National City Bank of New York, the Royal Bank of Canada and the Banco Territorial y Agricola.
