The La Perla district of San Juan, Puerto Rico. La Perla is the shanty town astride the northern historic city wall stretching about 650 yards (600 m) along the rocky Atlantic coast immediately east of the Santa Maria Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery and north of Calle Norzagaray. The photographer is looking east-south-east over the rooftops from the east end of the Calle Cementerio to Fort San Cristobal.
