The Calle Comercio district on the south side of the Old Town at San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Calle Comercio district on the south side of the Old Town at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The photographer is looking north-east from the quay of the United States Lighthouse Service base on the west side of the harbour showing some lighthouse service motor launches, including one numbered USC 510, moored stern-on to the quay. Beyond them are local boats and one of the Popular class of passenger motor ferry launches is alongside the landing place. Cannon are displayed in the plaza of the Calle Comercio and there is a great deal of pedestrian and vehicular activity. In the right background is the cable office building of the West India and Panama Telegraph Co. Ltd. and the Western Union Telegraph Company.
