A distant starboard broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) anchored in an unknown location, taken from on board her motor lifeboat number 15. The photographer is in the sternsheets of the lifeboat with the helmsman immediately in front of the camera and one other crew man forward. An illustrated panel secured to the bulkhead next to the helmsman shows the ship's private code signal flags with meanings. The after part of the Orion is hidden by the body of the helmsman in the foreground. The depth of field of the camera lens means the image of the ship is out of focus.
