A very distant port quarter view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) anchored in Geirangerfjord off Merok, Norway. The photographer is in an elevated position ashore showing the ship in still conditions and she has accommodation ladders rigged to her main deck aft on both sides of the ship. The Blue Peter flag is at the port yardarm and the Norwegian flag is at the starboard yardarm on the foremast . The mouth of the Geirangelva river is in the foreground and on either side of it are wooden supports covered with a straw-like material making enclosures and tents are sheltered inside two of these enclosures. There are patches of snow on the mountains in the background.
