The breakwater, harbour and town at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands.
The breakwater, harbour and town at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking along the breakwater showing boat landing steps with a crowd of local people gathered by a crane waiting for the arrival of tourists from a cruise ship. A uniformed man is standing at the top of the steps. A building near the inland end of the breakwater has Obras del Puerto on it and a little further inland are a Shell petrol pump, a building with Texaco on it and a poster for Goodyear tyres on the hillside. The town is built on the lower slopes of the Caldera de Taburiente.
