The town of Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands.
The town of Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking south from high ground above the town and on the left is a building with "..onac Tres Escudos Florido Hermanos El Mejor" painted on the flank wall. A small park with a raised ornamental bandstand is to the left of centre. On the right is a concrete structure representing the hull of a ship with the name Maria on the bow and with a large cabin at the stern. It is surrounded by lines of washing hanging up to dry. At anchor offshore and seen from ahead of the port beam is a Canadian Pacific Steamships passenger cruise ship of the Montcalm class, either the Montcalm (1921), Montrose (1922) or Montclare (1922). The Caldereta is in the right background.
