An aerial view of the harbour and town at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking east from the summit of the Caldereta showing the harbour in the centre and works are in progress to extend the breakwater seawards. Two cargo steamers and a 2-masted schooner are alongside the breakwater and another cargo steamer and a 2-masted schooner are at anchor in the harbour. The town has been constructed on the lower slopes of the Caldera de Taburiente.
