A distant starboard side view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company passenger cruise ship Strathmore (1935) anchored offshore at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking north-east-by-north from the southern slopes of the Caldereta showing cacti in the foreground and the Florida Hotel on the left with the harbour beyond. Work is in progress to extend the breakwater seawards. The town has been constructed on the lower slopes of the Caldera de Taburiente. A vertical format negative.
