Seascape from the 'Umberleigh'
A sketch from the deck of the 'Umberleigh'. A wave looms in the foreground with its crest ending in white foam with a honeycomb pattern in the centre of the wave. Other waves can be seen behind. The sky is shown as a dark wash on the right and rays of light are visible on the left radiating diagonally outwards. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Umberleigh', from Barry, Wales, to Vancouver, Canada, in December 1933 and returned in March 1934. The painting is inscribed 'Um' verso.
